I just love that there are so many eagles on Long Island. One of my favorite locations is in Centerport. There is a great group of awesome photographers that post images. You can view some of the videos on youtube.
Bald Eagles of Centerport. The nest is in someones backyard and they were able to put a camera with live viewing.
The original pair had several offspring over the past 6+ years. Seems Dad died of avian flu in the fall. Mom has been checking out the potential partners for a few months. 2 males fought, (D3 & D4)went into a death spiral, and the bigger one won the fight. All those who follow these eagles were concerned that D3 was killed. Well he came back after about 2 weeks and seems Mom has chosen him. 2 days ago they were seen mating!!!
It is an eagle soap opera, lol.
Here are some of my images from one day.
Very nice shots. I live in Commack and have never seen them flying overhead. I drive through Centerport on 25A quite often, where exactly are thy located?

Have you seen the foxes in Commack?
The nest is near a motel, across from the Centerport post office.
If you make the turn north, right after the motel, you will see a bridge after a short distance. That is where most of the photographers stand. Parking is difficult.
This is a link to the live cam.

There are many foxes near you at the Brentwood golf course. Not far from Commack.
