Just you wait and see what yu get for the money, and the quality.

Remember when it gets marked/chipped, good car black touch up paint.

OR what I did with my new one was spray it with lacquer for cars when it arrived.

Well that is the easiest question to answer.

http://www.lensmaster.co.uk/index.htm

I have BOTH versions and would not swap them for anything

JR1 - I hadn't heard of Lensmaster until the discussion here. I read several reviews, watched videos and am impressed. When comparing the RH1 & RH2 what do you consider the pros/cons of each and which would you recommend for birding and all around use and why. Thanks very much!

Hi ecobin - just caught up with this thread. I'm not a "birder". You can only use the RH-1 (single arm) either in portrait mode with a short lens, or with a longer lens that has a tripod collar. As I mentioned earlier in the thread the longest lens I have (currently !!) is a 70-200, and I wanted all-round versatility (see photo of my camera with my other walk-around lens). The RH-2 fulfills that role, as I was politely reminded by Rob when we were drinking tea together beside his workshop - that is, in the kitchen of his home !! Ah, personal service !!

RH-2 with a shorter lens

I will be honest, he makes very little, does it for love, is a birder.

Thank you - I ordered the RH-2. I've been looking for a long time but never found a head that met all my criteria until I read this thread and googled reviews.

Hi Craggycrossers

Just curious - but if you're not going to use your 150-500mm "in the field", just where are you going to use such a big lens?

thanks for the advice - for me in the field is when I spend the walking and taking shots rather than staying in just a few spots.

Monopod for walking and something for the other - will probably be a Gimbal thanks to all the very helpful advice from you and everyone else

JR1,
My sincere thanks for your advice. I received the Lensmaster RH2 gimbal head and wow, I can't believe how sturdy and easy to use it is. Here's my rig with my largest lens (Sigma 150-500mm). Can't wait to use it!

I got it from Amazon - make sure you get the one made by Better Beamer.
