I haven’t seen any new posts here in awhile, so I thought I’d post a couple shots of the northern lights that I took with my iPhone 13 Pro Max, from in front of our house the other night. Hard to hold a camera still when it’s -7˚F!

NOTE: I just noticed that I managed to hold my phone at an angle when I took these. Sorry about that.

Thank you. They were pretty spectacular that evening. I had thought of going to a better place to see and photograph “the lights,” but by the time I would have gotten ready to go and driven somewhere, the display was over.

I have a cousin that used to live in North Pole.
She was able to get some nice shots also.

Thanks, Mike. Much appreciated.I hope we get another display before winter is over. I’d like to get out with my regular camera and a tripod to get some better shots.

Beautiful shots of that phenomenal light show! Amazing how they show different shades of color.
You must be far enough outside Anchorage, for the city light to not interfere too much. Did they 'dance'?
I now I loved watching the aurora when we visited Coldfoot!

You’re welcome. It’s pretty impressive when they’re out like that.

Thank you Doug. We are located about 40 miles north of Anchorage, but there is still some light pollution. Wasilla has a population of 9420, and even though it’s spread out, there’s still plenty of ambient light. We live fairly close to what qualifies as “downtown” Wasilla. The lights were moving around and changing colors, and the intensity varied with location.
