Not much within 2 miles. Five maybe a lot. But this is after a sleet storm a couple of years ago in the front yard.

Wow! At first glance I thought these were ice covered logs, not a bicycle!!

I had hoped to go a different way toward the end of this challenge, showing new pictures with a broader perspective of what makes this area so nice to live in. But.... I didn't get around to taking any so, I will submit pictures of more specific subjects taken in the surrounding areas. I've posted most but they are among my favorites.

pg. 36

What a wonderful set that showcases your area!

You are so right. I'll never forget, as camp nurse (and several campers carrying epipens as they were allergic to bees etc.) several years ago we were taking an all camp picture and unbeknowingly annoyed some of those ground wasps or whatever they are. We told the kids to run, got them into a safe spot got ice, called campus police, had to give some some benedryl, call parents, ---it was a nightmare. Only a couple kids were stung on the face, than goodness.

Ground wasps can be the worst! Years ago our GSD stuck her nose into a nest and was chased by hundreds of them flying in the shape of a football! Thankfully, she was only stung a few times but we made sure to destroy the nest.

No problem. You and your spouse get a couple of baseball bats and just beat the poop out of it for about twenty minutes. That and the running is great exercise 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪 When you're about a mile away, you won't see any more insects

Twenty minutes?!?!? It would take less than 20 seconds to rouse those nasty things!

My last submission, on the last day of a great challenge. There's always a photo op around the house or yard with these two knuckleheads.

page #33 is one of the weirdest things seen on UHH

It was actually a great opportunity to observe how those nests are built - this was a small one with only two layers but hundreds of egg cells. A large nest would have many more layers and many, many more eggs and developing hornets.

What time should I be there

Give me a couple hours notice, I stuck a lot of it in the freezer, but I'll get it thawed by the time you get here. Bring beer
