We told the kids to run, got them into a safe spot got ice, called campus police, had to give some some benedryl, call parents, ---it was a nightmare. Only a couple kids were stung on the face, than goodness.
Ground wasps can be the worst! Years ago our GSD stuck her nose into a nest and was chased by hundreds of them flying in the shape of a football! Thankfully, she was only stung a few times but we made sure to destroy the nest.
