Hi new to the forum already made a couple posts though, I live in
Colorado. My main focus is birds and wildlife. I use a nikon z7ii I have one z lens the 100-400mm my other lens are f mount and i use with the ftz converter. I use Lightroom for my post processing and always shoot raw and in manual. I have been shooting for about 8-10 years and I am self taught. I am always up for suggestions as in how to improve my shooting as I’m the first to admit there is a lot i dont know.
Welcome! Kudos to anyone who can use a camera in manual mode — I did for over four decades. In the late 2000s, I gradually learned WHY all the other modes are there, and how they may be used intelligently (as opposed to blindly relying on automation) with manual overrides (program shift, exposure compensation, processing menu adjustments, etc.) and how all those settings can affect raw file processing in Lightroom Classic.
The latest cameras have a multitude of features that can make getting the images you want a lot easier and more precise. As a trainer, I encourage everyone to suffer the slings and arrows of reading their camera manuals, and anything else about photography they can get their hands on! The field is wide and the fodder is deep...
