Epson P900 vs Epson ET8550

Ok, I’m looking for feedback re the above 2 printers. Is the P900 photo quality that much better than the 8550?
I like the Ecotank feature of the 8550, and I know the P900 is a dedicated photo printer, but does it warrant the increase in ink costs?

Thanks

A neighbor has an inexpensive Epson "all-in-one". Her small prints are very satisfactory.

The answer has to be in your mind's eye. There is also differences in ink and the resulting longevity.

If you intend to sell gallery quality, archival prints you need the P900. If you are interested in higher volume for your own travel and family photos, the ET8550 might be perfect.

What are your printing goals?

I own both, the P900 and the 8550. I use the P900 for all of my customer's prints. It does a great job and the prints
should last for 100 yrs. The 8550, I use for simple proofing, passport prints, and for any prints that I know are for
short term use. I think their life would probably 25-50 years. The refillable ink is much cheaper per print and does
a good job on the "highest quality" setting.
