Swamp Buggy Races

Swamp Buggy Races have been held annually in Naples, FL since 1949 (!), but yesterday was my first time seeing this sport. These pictures are actually from the practice day, which provided better photo opportunities. These races combine the excitement and speed of a car race with the mud and water of a swamp. The track is only a few feet deep for the most part, but there are a few deep spots that the buggies have to get over or get stuck. Amazingly fun experience. Used a Nikon Z9 and an AF-S 80-400 lens with adapter.

Reminds me of the days when we put snowmobiles on open water..... they sank too.
