This riverbed in Southern California is usually dry and is big news after heavy rains.

Cool, love it. I have only seen that much water in the Eaton Canyon a few times during my life! It is usually dry or nearly dry. Of course it flooded in 1969 and washed away a restaurant. There was also a lot of water running down it in the Winter of 1981-82. There was also a huge fire in the area a couple decades ago that destroyed the Nature Center and a lot of the trees and near by homes. They built a new Nature Center shorty after. I used to live in Temple City, Pasadena, and Pomona, CA.

Great observation, I actually hadn’t thought of that!

Thank you very much! It was at 1/125s that worked for the amount of light I had, even for the ETTR technique.

Hey Mike, I heard about that flood and wouldn’t buy one of the condos near that spot because of it. We lived through that fire unscathed, and the new nature center is great. This rain is so welcome that that my wife and I made the short drive just to get this photo.
