Clouds nip away at the mountain's top. A bit of a bite of Mount Tukuhnikivatz remains unswallowed, but not for very long.
#1 would make a lovely painting

nice pictures! Awesome landscape! The light (low sun/long shadows) is just perfect (in N°2)
As usual, I stand in awe, Jim!

You got me curious, Susan. While the attached is not a re-do of #1 (which I don't think would be a 'best' candidate to use as the basis of a painting), it was shot among various others I shot yesterday afternoon.
In any event, here's a "painting"-ish version of essentially the same subject. Admittedly, though the attached is a lot more vivid than anything I'd ever have actually painted (watercolors tend not to be anywhere near as saturated), it sorta-kinda works for me at the moment, here in the digital world.
Wow! Never learned the names of any of the local peaks. Is this the Henry's or the La Sals? Or something else?? Whatever, it's BEAUTIFUL!!

It's in the LaSals, Chief. Tuk isn't the highest of the peaks, but it is one of the most identifiable.
Great photo but I was disappointed. I expected Nip and Tuk to be Egyptian pharaohs.

Krikey, 'kawboy! Do you have any idea how much time, effort, angst, gas and related personal/psychological/bodily costs I go through to fully realize my penultimate goal of disappointing people? E-freaking-Gads! It's exhausting, I tells ya, exhausting! And it's not cheap, neither!

Your cost in gas, do you mean gasoline tracking down shots or flatulence? The latter has a way of scaring off deer, elk, moose and small children.

Those supposedly 'de-farted' beans they sell in the grocery store? Talk about a crock!
Since this evening's gustatory delight will include some supposedly de-farted black beans (I calls what I'm making my 'Chikken & De-Farted Bean Enchilada Soooo-premes), I suggest you --and any small kids who might be lurking around in my snow-ensconced yard-- to pick a spot well up-wind.
Mooses seem to love the aroma, though, and it's a shame and a bother there aren't any around. Moose antler makes the best lens caps, and that's a known fact.
So far as
gasoline goes, on the other hand, I usually know where's worth going, and I seldom get lost.
Cany you live in a very beautiful state. Been there a number of times and the scenery is always something to look forward to. Your bean based dishes not so much.
