How cute. Except when they are eating my tomatoes on the vine. Or when they - regularly! - immolate themselves on top of transformers and shorting them out in our area and I have to roll out the generator.
One evening I was sitting on my porch enjoying the evening when I saw a squirrel go into the transformer across the street. Sure enough...BANG....and the cooked little guy landed on the street. When the repairman arrived I asked about putting a squirrel guard on the transformer. He pointed up and replied that there is a squirrel guard. I pointed out that it didn't work. The next day I called the power company and talked to a supervisor about it. That afternoon a different repair person arrived with a different guard. There hasn't been another squirrel roasting since.
Perhaps a call to your power company would solve the problem for you, too.
