For the sake of those who lived and died there, and their survivors, we can never forget. Genocide is arguably the most horrible crime against humanity.

I lived in Munich and visited Dachau. While the photos are powerful and somber, nothing can replace the experience of actually being there! I applaud the German people for creating this memorial rather than sweep the history under the carpet, as seems to be the trend elsewhere.

True.
I photographed some other things that I doubt I will ever show and perhaps will remove.
I had a neighbor who was interred but his family was rich and got him out and to Mexico then to the USA. He was a friend of Hitler and had a falling out and locked up.
He had amazing stories.

Man’s inhumanity to his kind is alive and well today, even in the good ol’ US of A.

Precisely! Giving the "right" circumstances the dark side of human nature can surface anywhere on earth. The unfortunate thing is that something like a holocaust can stain the image and reputation of a whole nation. Many of those that had nothing to do with it may suffer the stigma of infamy for the rest of their lives.

We must be reminded of the past so as to not forget it and repeat it.
