Does any UHH member have an Iphone 14 and a "real" Camera? Would you take shots with both?

I have had the iPhone 14 pro for about 2 months now. Also have a Z9 and D850.
Have been using my iPhone a lot. Have posted photos in the iPhone thread.
That doesnโ€™t mean Iโ€™m giving up the cameras for serious needs.
Sunset I took with iPhone.

Well Done! (The Sunset)

I've wondered if somewhere in the not too far future the name will be changed from iPhone to iCamera and the phone will be an add-on option. I'm sure that everyone has noticed when the new phone is released the major upgrades are to the cameras.

My thoughts exactly. Call it anything but a phone.

Well, I donโ€™t know how many improvements could be made to the phone component.

Ah another Sony RX10 IV convert. I also traded my Canon equipment for this wonderful camera. I too own a Iphone 13 and similarly use it but when I am serious I pick up my Sony. My only regret is the RX's limited low light capabilities but Wallah welcome Topaz DeNoise. Now it is truly perfect. Here are a few examples of my photo shoot at the Revs car museum in Naples FL. The museum is beautifully lit to enhance the cars but terrible for hand hold photography. I am now going through all my images and taking the noise (grain) out of them. If you don't have DeNoise ya gotta try it

There has been a lot of talk about cell phone cameras. I would like to suggest a way to get insight into the difference between 8*10 or UHD TV or UHD monitor or UHD monitor.
Can pros tell the difference? On what criteria? Can amateurs tell the difference?

1) pick a few objects, a book, a knick-knack, a pet, a stop sign, a ruler, a piece of graph paper.
2) from a variety of positions and distances, take pairs of pictures 1 from each device.
3) for each pair flip a coin as to which to display first.
4) ask the person looking at the pair which is better? Which is from the phone?

Is there an arithmetical way to to compare zooming, moving closer, and cropping from a higher megapixel file?

I have a Nikon D7100 and an iPhone 14 Pro. I use both for photos. On a recent Mediterranean vacation with stops in Israel, Greece, Cypress, Crete, Turkey and Rome, I used both for the same subjects, and without looking at the file names, it's not obvious which photos were taken with the iPhone. I find the D7100 to be easier to compose photos, especially when it's bright outside, washing out the iPhone screen. One nice thing about the iPhone is that the photo information includes where the shot was taken.

Although I did not go on a vacation, I find the shots with my iPhone14 ProMax and Canon r6 are sometimes hard to tell apart.

I don't see the point to this thread. I have a iPhone 13 PRO and an OMDS OM-1. I shoot with both. If I want to send a photo quickly through email or texting, I use the iPhone. When finished for the day or project, I edit the RAW files, make medium resolution JPGs, and pick the best of the litter to upload to Google Photos. I save high resolution JPGs and some of the RAW files, the rest are deleted.

Or maybe a "Cahone" as in "you ought to see my cahones" when you want to show off your gear.
