Canon F1 (Early Model) Cushion

I have a Canon F1 early model and the mirror cushion has become detached. I took the lens off the other day and it fell out of the body. I need to find the best way to re-attach it.
I have attached a picture of part of the exploded view of the second model which shows the cushion, as part number 13-9744-000. I do not have the exploded view of the early model, but I believe the later model is very similar.
Any help would be appreciated.

Pliobond? Applied to one surface only. It works with camera coverings so it should work for the bumper, right?

See if this guy (Joe Careta) is still in business. His email is on the page www.slr35.com , although the content looks like it hasn't been updated in a while.

You can google Canon F1 mirror cushion and find several options to purchase a replacement. Good luck

If you intend to replace it, try to find a newer similar part, because rubber & plastic deteriorate over time. Most old cameras used similar stuff and sir mirrors are of similar size. Keep the old one for reference. I would try to speak with some camera repair techs, because even if they don't have parts, they may be able to describe the best procedure.
Good luck

The cushions are available online, not expensive either, and seals too if one wants to do those.

It should, I keep a tube or two in the workshop. I first used it in the 1960s and have been using it ever since. Ace Hardware used to sell the bottles, maybe they still do, but they never had the tubes. When I open a new tube, I remove the tapered cap, drill a tiny hole in it then close the hole with a toothpick. I usually only use tiny drops and that gives me much better control.

The newer model F-1 has the same cushion as the older F-1. Only the New F-1 actually changed the body.
I just compared the two.
As far as attaching, that I would look up how to do or leave to the pros if too unsure.

I e-mailed him. He is still in business but is only doing AE-1 cameras.

He's worked on two of my AE-1s over the years. I had the impression he did other older Canon cameras too, guess not.
