Well, I don't carry matches any more so I fill stripped-out holes with a twig from my maple tree or a splinter from a wooden plant label. Other than that, I guess I'll just have to wait until the solution is revealed by Frank or someone more inventive than I. Or maybe the joke/cartoon is just older than I am (small chance). I don't recognize the green stuff on the bottom of the matchstick.
On stripped out screw holes, I just use a toothpick, works all the time...
All well and good uses but the OP called this “Old joke/cartoon “ so I’m thinking there’s something else entirely that we’re supposed to see.
