I like to get a Sony 24-105 F4 as a Christmas gift. I already have Sony 20mm, 35mm on my Sony A 7C.

It's my favorite lens for my Sony camera. The two kit lenses that came with my camera just rest easy at the bottom of the bag--pretty much all of the time.

Superb lens, my most used of all my 13 E-mount lenses covering 10mm to 600mm. The best selling Sony E-mount lens in the world and for good reasons. Sharp, fast and quiet autofocus with OSS. Super versatile. Never go on any pro shoot without it.
FYI, as a longtime pro I have owned Sony A6500, A7RII, A7RIII, A7III, A9 and currently own A1, A7RIV, A7SIII.
Running out now on errands, but when I get back later I will post some award-winning shots I have made with my Sony 24-105mm f5 G OSS lens.

3) Sunrise over Brookings Lake, Manistee National Forest, Michigan, USA. Sony A1, Sony 24-105mm f4 G OSS lens, 73mm , ISO 100, f22, 1/40 sec. handheld, all natural light.
4) A Parrot in flight on the Caribbean Island of Sint Maarten/St. Martin. Sony A1, Sony 24-105mm f4 G OSS lens, 105mm, ISO 1600, f4, 1/2000 sec. handheld, all natural light

The Sony 24-105 with a polarizer is my travel kit. Very sharp. Got it on sale from B&H. One of the sharpest lenses I have ever used. Used it this October in Utah.
Good luck and keep on shooting until the end.

I use the lens as my go to lens for shooting stills of military event such as retirements, promotions and galas. I think it is an excellent lens...
