My Image Your View - 2022 Fall Color

New Market Pond is one of my favorite places for landscapes and the Fall color was nice this year. The attached image is SOOC and was taken hand-held with an attempt to preserve highlights in the sky. It could really benefit from your editing expertise and some TLC to bring out its potential. Hope you have fun with this one.

Feel free to download this image to your computer. Then you can edit it any way that you think is an improvement. Composites, black and white conversions, textures, sky swaps, inverted images, solarization, or whatever else you think will improve the photo are acceptable techniques for your edit. When you are finished, post your edit in this thread. Edits will be accepted until 9pm Eastern time on Thursday. No edits will be accepted after that time because we will begin voting then. Thank you for your efforts and your participation.

My editing: I used Photo clarity, vibrant colors and image treatment saturation.

I've downloaded the image you posted (that is the correct thing to do, yes?), but I cannot import the image into Capture One Pro. Am I doing it wrong as far as the download goes? There is no actual raw file to get, correct? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks,

Ben

Sometimes the poster gives up a raw file and they tell us where to go to get it. Most of the time, as this time, we click on the word "Download" under the picture. It then takes you to a new page. On a mac I right click the mouse and you choose download image. Not sure how your pc is set it should download the image to wherever you normally get downloads. It will download an jpg file. Open the file in whatever program you choose to edit with.

Yeah, that is exactly what I did. I also use a Mac. Weird behavior. But thanks for trying to help.

Hi Ben. I'm not familiar with Capture One, but the image posted is a jpg file and you should be able to edit it.

Once you click on Download, the image is opened in a new page on UHH. On a Windows PC, you would then right click the image file and choose save (or save as) into a folder on your computer. Since your using a Mac the process is somewhat different. You do need to get the image file out of UHH and onto your computer.

Hope this is helpful.

I downloaded the image to my desktop. Make a new folder on your Desktop HUHH Contest
With Capture One in library use any Sessions you currently have , doesn't matter what one since after you work on the UHH image you probably won't keep.
Go File>Import images When new Import Images screen pops up in the Source change to Desktop. Now you should see the image. Click it so it is now highlight with a box around it, Then Import all button on lower right.

You might first want to make a Temp folder on your desktop. and choose it for your destination folder as your (Import To) folder.

Here is my version: I did most of the colors/lum in lightroom using the new masking features, used photoshop to remove some artifacts in the sky and the power lines/poles.
