"Ready in 3 1/2 minutes." A woman in Florida is suing Kraft Heinz for $5 million because it actually takes longer than that to prepare their Macaroni and Cheese Dinner.

One important factor that the article doesn't say is that whether the law firm takes on the case and get paid only if they win or the woman has to pay them first. That would determine whether the case is likely to win or not.

Money grubber.....

Depends on a few things: microwave power, how frozen the item is (25°F; 15°F; -5°F).

Common sense....
Oh, wait, I forgot, we don't have/use that anymore.

I can't imagine any law firm would think they could win that suit.

She claims that 3 1/2 minutes is the cooking time, not the total time. You know, you have to open the freezer, remove the "dinner," and whatever else. All of that takes time, and Kraft never considered that. If you have people come over for dinner, and you think it will take 3 1/2 minutes to prepare, your guests could be sitting there for a couple of minutes, wasting time.

I would hope not.
But then the firm could get a lot of notoriety couldn't they.

She should be finished in 3 1/2 minutes.

If they don't think they would win they wouldn't take the case unless she pay fee to retain them. In which case she would be out a lot of money. A lot more than the $10.99 or so she paid for the Macaroni n' Cheese.

Depends on the judge and the law firm.
Kraft has tons of money.
Judges can be corrupted.
Law firms that would take such a case are already corrupt.

Start tossing around tons of money like $5 MILLION in front of corrupt judges and lawyers and you can get surprising results.

Notice the chick didn’t say how long it took her to complete the job? Maybe she needs to just buy the plain ingredients and do it the old fashioned way. But maybe her time is too valuable for that but not so valuable that she can’t take time to contact a lawyer.

I tried to find anything on the Velveeta package that claims ready in 3.5 minutes but I can't.

I don't think she cares how long it takes to complete the job. I think she lied when she said she paid the high price because she want the 3 1/2 minutes and she want to stretch her dollars. I am sure she knew exactly what it takes to compete the job and she knew it would take 3 1/2 minutes just for the microwave step so she bought it just to sue. I think she believe it's a good investment.
