S & E Asia 177 - N Thailand 35: Golden Triangle: Mae Song: Visit to hill tribe village
With our iron buffalo trucks, we visit the village of an Akha hill tribe and notice that there seems to be quite a fascination in this village and indeed in the area with chicken: we encountered a shrine seemingly dedicated to chicken, populated and surrounded by a large number of chicken statues and observed a number of beautiful chicken and roosters parading in the village. From my research, I learned that apparently chicken actually originated in South East Asia, so we really are on their home turf. Besides the chicken, we also notice some of the locals in their tribal fineries and I was pleased to be able to capture a few images of two ladies and a young girl.

Excellent set Joe.
Thank you very much Jim, glad you liked this set with its rural setting.
Another beautiful set, Joe! I am drawn to your shots of the roosters. While on Hawaii trips I have become enamored with the various wild roosters and their wonderful array of colors.

Love the locals and all the colorful garb they are adorned by. It would seem this village is all about the roosters/chickens with that unique entry to the temple and all.
Wonderfully shot from start to finish Joe, well done!!

Thanks Rob, I liked the colorful garb on the locals also, but can't help thinking that this rooster outshone them all with his totally natural, colorful attire!
