Also known as the Turtle Neck Dove...The spotted dove (Spilopelia chinensis) is a small and somewhat long-tailed pigeon that is a common resident breeding bird across its native range on the Indian subcontinent and in Southeast Asia. The species has been introduced to many parts of the world and feral populations have become established. They are very common in Australia..

this is a great shot of a beautiful bird.
it reminded me of something totally unrelated. There is a traditional Cambodian woven neck wrap called a Krama. I happen to own one that looks very much the same as the one your bird is wearing (that's not me in the picture)!

Great image. I will be going on the Audubon Christmas bird count which has been held by different groups across the United States for well over a hundred years. We will see many species of birds, including Mourning Doves and Eurasian Collared Doves where I am, but I won't be seeing your dove. Thanks for sharing.
