Migrating hummers stopped by South Texas from early September through mid-October. Hopefully we assisted a few of them along their way. Enjoy.

Humming birds are great fun to watch with awe and amazement. How something so small
can travel such great distances is truly remakable.

Excellent hummers there Bubba. Like 'em all but #3 is my favorite.

Great pics, Bubba. I grew up in McAllen in the Rio Grande Valley. Moved away at 21years old. I understand that is a great area for birding. I was too young to appreciate it 57 years ago. Benson State Park & another areanear Harlingen/Brownsville are talked about a lot by birders now. Enjoy.

Thanks, Michael. The RGV is a great place for all kinds of birding. Surprisingly, Rockport, Texas hosts the largest congregations of hummers each year as they prepare for their migration over the Gulf of Mexico.

Thanks, Mike. I try to avoid photos of birds on feeders by cropping or by other means. Positioning hummer attracting plants near nectar feeders can yield shots like these. In my experience, the hummers spend most of their time drinking from nectar feeders, but occasionally they feed off the nearby flowering plants.
