I am getting the following message whenever I attempt to push the back button configured focus button in all mode settings except for M, manual.
This setting is not available. I know I can reset to factory settings but I'd sooner find what setting I have used recently that prevents my using all modes for focusing except manual. I could avoid doing this or change it in the future. This was not the case until recently and I know it did not display this error after customizing the AEL button for BBF.
Thanks for reading and and suggestions are appreciated.
Altho I moved on to the 6500 from the 6000, one commonality still stands out.
The switch surrounding the AEL/BBF button can lead you into uncharted waters. If the switch is not in its/your customary position, then buttons you might push with the switch in its "alt" position can do unexpected things, or lead to conflicts.
Its a highly customizable area so I cant nail your exact problem but strongly suggest that you investigate that area. And acoarst "Rotsa ruck widdat" !
Also go into the custom settings menu
and reconfirm the assignments that you made for focus and AEL controls.
Thank you I will investigate all my custom settings, again. Sadly none specify what else will happen when the change is made.
Since BBF should (and from personal experience does) work in all camera modes, it seems likely that the function assigned to the button has somehow been changed. If the menu says it's set to BBF, I'd try setting it to something else, see what happens, then try switching back to focus.
