I created some 8.5x11 jpgs for a submission and exported them into the same folder with other photos that I created having custom aspect ratios. Is there a viewer that will report the aspect ratio so I can sort out the 8.5x11s?

TIA

Sorry don't know about a viewer, but can't you just rename them with the ratio in the title?

That would be cheating, even more so than giving them their own folder !

As apparently the fugitive jpegs were created as a batch, sorting their current folder by date would also be cheating ...

I use Duplicate Cleaner Pro Version 5. I think it does what you are asking but I've never used that particular function. Here's a screen shot when used in Image Mode. Hope this helps.

I'll give that a try. I'm guessing that aspect ratio will be approximate since the pixel count/ratio might not be exactly the same.

I'm not actually very deep in this problem that I can't solve it manually. It just got me wondering if I could sort a folder of jpgs by aspect ratio.

He could, after he sorts them. I have no idea about Mac, but in Windows, if you hover over a picture file, it will display the size in pixels. Then you just have to know pixel/inch.

Not quite sure what you mean by sorting. Why can't he just name them as he creates them? When he says "create" I assume they're not SOOC, and in some PP software. Or as UserID suggested, put them in a separate folder.

Yes, I'm asking myself that as well :D

I had developed a shoot in Lr and wasn't really thinking about submission requirements when I cropped them. After all, 8.5x11 is such an uninspiring aspect ratio. Now I'm trying to separate out the ones that are already properly cropped for submission and which ones I have to redevelop.

Thanks all.

If you have cropped they with the same ratio in LR, then you should have the same ratio in Pixels in the EXIF data. If you are using windows, go to File explorer and use view mode "details". Add a column of Dimensions and you will now have a column of the pictures dimensions. Sort on that column.

You can create a column in Explorer called Dimensions ? Thank you.

He is speaking in the past tense. I agree that next he should label them that way if he needs to be able to sort or pick and choose. I do that, except that for me an A prefix is 8 X 10, B 8.5 X 11 --- you get the picture.
