The same to you. Ours was low-key, the wife fixed the food and because our daughter who flew home from medical school at the University of Virginia for a visit tested positive (very mild case) we all sort of distanced, wore masks, got our food and ate in our favorite lounging spots, watched TV, listened to music, spoiled the dogs and the cat etc. (Is that real turkey? Gimme, gimme, meow, woff, woff, gimme!!!
Then this morning Debra put in the big beef roast to finish cooking she had planned to go with the turkey (she likes beef more than turkey) so we get to start eating all over.

And if Jasmine tests negative, so the airline will let her fly, she will be leaving on a late flight tonight after being home two weeks. Otherwise, another day or two until the test comes negative. She took a month off her last year classes to do interviews for a residency in pediatrics. I helped her put up all her awards etc. on a wall of her room as a background for her interviews on Zoom. And if she is still positive she has two weeks to do Zoom interviews and get back to UVA before her clinics and classes start again.

Sorry to ramble, my favorite talk show is off for the weekend and they were doing college sports which bore me to tears.

You sound as if you has a wonderful time of it all.
It was pretty quiet for me. We just a couple of friends and their daughter over. My son came down from Chico for the day. Have a great holiday season. Christmas is just around the corner. I have to cook a Christmas dinner for the clinic and staff on the 15th, and then another for us on Christmas eve. I am usually done with turkey until the next November and it starts again.

Yes, it was nice, just marred by the Covid thing keeping us in protective mode. Our daughter tested negative two days in a row and left flying standby to go back to Med school last night, and this morning I got a text she is safe back in Charlottesville, VA. And she is coming home for another week in about a month, just before Christmas, and going back for New Years with her friends at school. This after not being home for 3 years and now visits two months in a row. She says, hopefully this time without the Covid, so we can get near each other. I am 77, asthma and minor heart problems, so she was reluctant to be around me too closely this visit. The dogs were overjoyed about her also. In their opinion she gives the best tummy rubs in the universe. My little dog heard her voice and ran to the toddler gate at the door to the main house, flopped down and rolled tummy up just as Jasmine got to the gate. After three years, she remembered and was all ready for a good rub.

How wonderful for such a great reunion. You take care. The waterfowl are arriving here at the refuges and I plan to go out to shoot some sandhill cranes in the morning. The Sacramento region offers a lot of varied opportunities for wildlife. Doesn't take long to go to the coast or mountains either.
Regards,
David

I lived in Ceres (Ceres High) and Modesto (Thomas Downy High) in 10th and 11th grade back in late 60 to early 62. My Mom, Stepfather, Aunt and Uncle worked in the Gallo glass plant. Then I moved back to my hometown in Kentucky for 12th grade and my first two years of college. My Uncle and I loved to fish in the lakes/reservoirs up in the mountains.

I was raised in Fremont in the East Bay. Moved out to the Sacramento region when my wife went to Veterinary school at UC Davis. We have been out here in Orangevale since 1994. I have a brother that lives at Lake Don Pedro, not far from you.
