Persistent iTunes

I'm on my old iMac now, and that stupid iTunes icon keeps popping up from the Dock. Since clicking on Quit doesn't actually make it quit, is there anything I can do to stop it from jumping up? It's like a dog jumping up at the dinner table, asking for food.

Try the free version of Malwarebytes. It has worked for a couple of popup removals on my PC. I'm not sure about the iMac.

This is funny! I just tried to shut down the iMac, but I can't. It won't shut down "because iTunes won't quit." Yeah? No kiddin'. 😆

Depending on how your mouse is set, just click on the icon and then click ‘remove from dock’. That may stop it. You can still find it in Launchpad if needed.
Hope it helps

It may require a hard shutdown by holding the power button

How to force an app to quit on your Mac
1. Press these three keys together: Option, Command, and Esc (Escape). This is similar to pressing Control-Alt-Delete on a PC. Or choose Force Quit from the Apple () menu in the upper-left corner of your screen.
2. Select the app in the Force Quit window, then click Force Quit.

That is puzzling. I did a search and found the problem and maybe a solution. You need to turn off WiFi sync.

Now you need to look up what that means! :)
