If I didn't have a busy day planned, I might do this, but anyone is welcome to use my idea. Keep track of how many "cranky" responses people get to their questions.
Q: I would like to get a good camera strap. Any recommendations?
A: What kind of an idiot are you? You can't make up your own mind?
A: Everyone has a different idea of what "good" means. Don't take someone else's suggestion and then complain that they offered a bad idea. Use your brain and think for yourself!
A: If you aren't strong enough to carry a camera, you shouldn't own one. Join a gym and build up enough muscle to handle two pounds.
You know what I mean. "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all."
I thought I got a few of those when I asked for recommendation for a floppy disk drive with the 34 pin floppy inteface. However, I did get an excellent unit from a fellow UHH member.
Exactly Jerry, "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all."

Those sounded like pretty reasonable responses to a pretty dumb question. I guess I get tired of seeing posts from people that don't want to take the time to use Google or some other search engine to get answers to their questions.
Although the question which camera should I buy I believe can't be answered by anyone but the person who buys it. But as far as neck strap I think it makes more sense to ask although I always use neck straps made by the camera manufacturer.

I was in Vegas about 10 years ago in a huge camera shop on the north west side of town and had picked a nice $69 strap for my camcorder .as I asked the cashier if there were any other camera straps anywhere .she pointed to a rack next to her and I found one that was nicer and felt better for $29 so I bought it.

As you see each of us is different and I am quite sure I won't pick the neck strap that you picked.
It is possible to use internet searches to find out information about an item such as a camera or a camera strap and then ask a question on UHH about individual experiences about a particular camera, strap, lens or other accessory without folks acting or responding that it is a dumb question.
Yes, the person asking the question will make a final decision, but input from real users can be very helpful as well. Let's all take a deep breath and think about how we would like a question responded to before firing off a snarky response.

I like to do research if I know where to start. When I was new to digital I didn't know where to start.
Most of all I trusted many folks here at UHH that had actual hands-on experience with the subject I was interested in.
A lot of these knowledgeable folks would actually explain, post pics, show examples, and post links for us to review.
I'm, not a fan of those who "believe, suppose, I recon (guess)" or subscribe to the "they tell me" school of facts.
This is especially true when it comes to spending my time and $$$.

Right! When I look for info on the Web, I avoid forums because that's exactly what they offer - "believe, suppose, I recon (guess)"
