Jim, I see what you mean. In the first image, the feathers appear much more distinct and separated from each other and appear darker. In the second image, they appear lighter, and less distinct. I realize some of this is from shooting the underparts of the bird, but still much lighter than I would have expected. Your robins are beautiful, so are ours but in a different way.
