The truth...
The other day I made a post in jest. Oh, and I lied. I do have photoshop.
Here is the actual story: Last week my wife and I went to our granddaughter's 2nd grade winter concert. It was pretty lame but heck, They were a bunch of 2nd graders.
We all know that every picture tells a story. Here is the one I kept of her ordeal. She was a basket case of nerves before, and all during the concert having to stand in front of all those people. Anyway, the man whom she is hugging is her step father. The gentleman on the right is her birth father. The pretty lady whom is seated, is my my wife. The two men get along together just fine. Neither man belongs to us. Now it gets complicated. The little girl is not ours by blood, but she might as well be. You see, her mother (our daughter in law) was married to our son. He is out of the picture. So much so that we kept the daughter in law and basically threw Our son out (actually, he did that all on his own). Our daughter in law is incredibly intelligent. She manages a major freight brokerage company.
I could write a book about our family dynamics. It is wonderfully incredible. Everyone gets along just beautifully. As for the kids, there are 4 of them. some by this parent some from that parent. They have 5 sets of grandparents. Boy! Do they ever clean up at birthdays and Christmas time! All families get together for all the birthdays and holidays. Oh, and all of us grandparents are still alive and well. We are truly blessed.
Here is that pic.

Love it,great family photo Tom.
Very good shot, Tom, and I thought my life was complicated.
A great capture of "the moment".
That photo will (someday) be a great keepsake and memory for
the child when he is older.
Your [story] about the feelings and fears of the child before and during
the "play" bring back my own memories of having to go on stage for
a class room play.
I envy actors and actresses that can do that day after day as a job.
If you have never had to go on stage and make a presentation or
give a "memorized" speech, you don't know the anxiety at all.
Thanks for the memory.
Thanks for sharing this excellent shot and your story, Tom. Happy Thanksgiving!
