I crop first, then use Topaz. Don't know if the deal still works this way, but I already had bought the Trio bundle before Photo AI was released. Because I already had the Trio, Photo AI was free. Just yesterday, I used Photo AI on some old wallet-sized photos I gang-scanned with my Epson. I used Photo AI to improve the files and noted this: it selected and improved/sharpened the faces, but left the bodies unsharpened.

Does Topaz Photo AI replace existing Image Quality applications (DeNoise AI, Sharpen AI, Gigapixel AI)?
Topaz Photo AI is an auto-pilot for image quality. It starts with the image quality issues you may have experienced, such as denoising, sharpening, upscaling, and locating/isolating/recovering faces.
You may also attack these issues using the Photo AI program's manual settings.

As for me, Topaz Photo AI is a painless method of loading a day's shoot into its hopper and letting the magic begin.
This method gets me to about 80-95% of what I like in a much shorter time than ever before.
My process is to start with Topaz Photo AI and finish with PhotoScape X (or insert any other popular post-processing program)
My newest "Best Friend" for heavily cropped or low-res pics is Topaz Gigapixel AI, which recovers faces and sharpens.

As others have said, it’s an excellent product and for the most part obviates the need for Sharpen, DeNoise and Gigapixel. I suspect they will eventually add autoexposure and make it all one needs except for cropping.

I have the other three Topaz programs and just recently added Photo AI. What I have found is that I use the Photo AI program now exclusively. Experimenting on photos between one or two of the other programs, i.e. Denoise, Sharpen, I saw no advantage using the two programs separately. The difference was much time saved using Photo AI. Great program and very flexible on manual.

I have been using Topaz Denoise and the sharpen program for a couple of years now. I am amazed on the difference in the sharpness just using Denoise alone and would highly recommend the program.
However, I am using the Nikon 850 (47 mg). I recently pulled out one of my older camera's, a Nikon D7000 (24 mg, crop sensor) and I noticed that the Topaz programs do not work nearly as well as with the D850 pictures. Most of the really noisy pictures from the D7000 showed little or no improvements when using Topaz. I can only assume it has to do with the amount of megapixels so depending on which camera you are using, the results may vary..

Thank you… that gives me something to test the trial software on. I have photo files from many years and many cameras… and some slide scans. I can see what the SW does to the various photos.

For wildlife birds and critters it is absolutely essential and the results are well worth it.

It is not inexpensive and updates are NOT automatic beyond a year. I think some of their other programs are kinda duplicated by PS LR and other less expensive types, so one would need to do their homework before buying their expensive bundles.

Good Luck

They are a large company that can get you better prices than the local stores and at checkout where it says coupon you type in SIMPSON for an additional 3% on anything in their store which includes the hard-to-get new items like the Canon R5, R7 and RF 100-500 mm IS L lens, plus free shipping on orders over $99. https://www.bedfords.com

> 2. ThinkTank and MindSet
For Camera Cases you can get a 30% discount through ThinkTank and MindSet by using this URL to order. Even if ThinkTank has a sale normally your code can be used and get the sale price plus 30%. The 30% automatically comes out at checkout if you use this URL. Think Tank makes extremely good rolling cases, photo back packs etc – top of the line. They have a lot of products. The travel rolling cases for our 600mm and 500mm lenses both allow the lens hood to be reversed and fits in the case – we have not found another case that will do that and still go in the overhead bins of any of the larger airplanes. Use the link below to get your 30% off – once you put the order in it will give you your price reduction.

The Wimberley Head was conceived in our living room. They have very specialized professional gear. They occasionally will have discounted used or demonstrator products that will be top quality.

When you say using Photo Ai do you ever also use Topaz Adjust Ai or Topaz Studio 2?

I keep getting confused on the terminology. These pictures are from their web site, link from their web page and the bundle depicted when you select that link
