These are some of the photoshop versions of my friends original 1987 film shots. The first shows the Missouri bow on at anchor as a reference to show just how far the bow dipped in going under water during the waves. Thought I'd share.

If you would like, Please click on the picture, doing so will link you to the gallery page where the shot can be seen in higher resolution and full page. Thanks for viewing and Have A Blessed Day !!!

Second shows a vortex of spray as the bow rose back up out of the wave

#3 and #7 are my favorites. Did you use a plugin to achieve the painted look on the last image?

Thank You Frank, much of the painting effect in the last one is done by making selections via color range, making a stroke path using a brush. I also used the filter gallery dry brush and poster edges in making the effect. Glad you enjoyed them !!

Thank You kindly, for me 5 and 7, with 5 slightly ahead. My favorite of the ones I did is a different version of #5 which I didn't include in this post, a little darker, more moody. Delighted you enjoyed them and Thank You for the question !!!

Thank You Frank !!! The friend I did these for saw a watercolor I did of the Iowa, a sister ship to the Missouri, and asked me if I could do one of the Missouri for him. I knew he'd served on the Missouri so I asked him if he had any pictures and he mentioned this sequence. I've enjoyed working on these for him. They're remarkable pictures. Glad you enjoyed the shots
