It's like a Hail Mary pass: you push the Enter button & say a prayerđ
I switched to Photopia - initially it was a little shaky but has gotten pretty solid now. It can import ProShow built shows as well tho you may lose the music if you used the ProShow included music tracks. There is a ProShow/Photopia group on Facebook where you can find details on how to reinstall ProShow and have it work. Those are listed in the group header.
Thanks for the Facebook info. I looked at Photopia yesterday and will probably subscribe to the lower cost version.
I use Movavi Slideshow Maker 8. It has generic music so you can post it online. YouTube also has free, non-royalty music available.
After a Windows update a couple years ago, I could no longer use ProShow Gold. Iâve forgotten the exact message but similar to what you have. I asked on UHH and researched several. One hogger, who I donât think Iâve seen in quite awhile, strongly recommended PTE-AV Studio. It seems to be a smaller company. Barry Beckham does a lot of YouTube videos for it. I bought it but havenât used it enough to comment about it other than to say the flexibility blew me away. If you enjoy flexibility that may also require patience, it seems to be a great solution. Iâm anxious to get into it deeper. It does everything ProShow Gold does but doesnât have the wizard unfortunately.

I use Quicken 2007 for the same reason.
Oh you all are killing me about Quicken! I wish I had kept the old version. The late one I had developed issues and basically I had to get the new one paying monthly. It did fix my issues but honestly the 2007 is all I ever needed.

POWERPOINT does a very good job.

The Creator version (lower cost) is equivalent to ProShow Producer, so that is a plus if you donât mind subscription software. BTW, you can âpauseâ your subscription in month intervals if you only use it infrequently.
Good Day Tomscotto,
I've been using "Photo Stage Slideshow" by NCH software for a number of years and have found it ease to use . I can change the duration of each picture that is shown in the slide show, add music and record on the thumb drive.
I also have "Wave Pad" to view the music and remove any periods of no music from the downloaded tunes.
That a look at NCH

I've use Photodex Pro Show software for years but they've gone out of business. I'm wondering if anyone has had success with any other slideshow software?
Have you tried making a slideshow on iMovie? Itâs amazing and quickly replaced my efforts with slideshow software.
No, I have not but will look at it.

I am able to mix photos and videos, use transitions, make titles, and add music easily.
Check out â Create a Slideshow With iMovie In Less Than 3 Minutes (#1251)â on YouTube. It is terrific.
Xnview MP has a software viewing option. If you use the software for personal use it is free. Does a good job.
