Key operator: can contribute.

To many it is an absolute must,
regardless if it would be grasped by the viewer.

Yep. That is why I said "can". For many or most images taken by average photographers lens quality may make very little difference.

We all know that the "greatest digital camera" one year will sell dirt cheap a few years later in the digital types. A great film camera will only increase in value as somewhere in the world they are still making film and more and more the digital novelty will wear off with serious photographers.------

Yes, the titillation of digital speed and automation wears thin when versa to true photographic quality with medium to large format film by professionals. Customers of certain type of pro photography can be fooled, but not when actual comparisons are made. But, yes, weddings and sports and news can benefit by speed and thousands of images to choose from and manipulate from those gigs----but there is a film and film camera which will always top the regular top of line "full frame digitals" with zoom lenses.--------So---indeed, laugh your head off, smarty.---------------

I’d love to hear exactly which “customers” of photography are insisting on film.

The only people shooting film in 2022 are fools, the idle rich and hipsters from Brooklyn.

So Canon------------what is your resume in the upscale market for photographing manufacturing publicity and annual reports? Also the portraits which fill the boardrooms of large corporations. I have twice asked our Canadian contributor what equipment he uses as he says he is in this market and he has not yet responded to UHH. Does anybody here work in that rarefied market needed super photography for 4 color printed publications? News photography does not need camera quality, nor does wedding photography. That is photography of the moment, gesture, and effect. Any moderate digital works fine for that.--------------------

When I bought my desktop computer used about 10 years ago for $400 I bought the 2 monitors which I paid $60 each. They worked great and well calibrated.

My two are newer, the price upped to $120 and then $150...

Calibrated?
I think they have settings.(warm, cool, night club, etc.....)
I suppose I should print something and compare to the monitors
at some point.

I got this
https://www.adorama.com/ncmdsvsnsor3.html?gclid=CjwKCAiAyfybBhBKEiwAgtB7fhNOVyg3VKYiJQfLdPrr1LA1CEzPKmejOM0ns-DK8IpTkXzArLo7NRoC53YQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&utm_source=adl-gbase-p

For $50 on ebay and use the NEC Spectraview II software to calibrate. It does hardware calibration and work great. Didn't cost me too much money.
