Would they ask for water? It's early summer, the ground is dry and there is not much feed for stock. I like the simplicity of this photo which depicts much of South Australia's rural landscape in summer.

14 images in portrait mode stitched together. Nikon D7500, 16-35mm f/4.0 lens.

I agree. It conveys a good sense of place. It was a good move to include a close-up of the dry and stony ground in the foreground.

Thanks for your comments Cany. Of course you are correct, plants will tell us if they are sick or healthy. With 70% of the country classified as either arid or semi arid land, Australia is cited as “the driest inhabited continent in the world”. Farmers and horticulturists have learnt to "listen" with their eyes and interpret the signs. Regards, Richard.
