Converted from an iPhone 7 Plus snapshot of a street scene in Village of Vernazza, Cinque Terre, Italy, using a Photoshop Neural Filter.

A gorgeous result that reminds me of the colors of Gaugin's works πŸŸ πŸŸ‘πŸ”΄πŸŸ‘πŸŸ

Thanks! I have used that particular filter before. It's a lot of fun when things are rusty or textured.

Here is the straight version before the filter. I think it's interesting in its own right.

Thanks! I highly recommend touring Cinque Terre if you're in Italy. The views are jaw dropping β€” quaint β€” gorgeous. Old World charm in spades. A month later, I'm just beginning to comprehend what we saw and play with the files.

The Psyco Photo is wonderful, I am so glad that you, burkphoto, are no longer on your medication!!! or have found one in the Mushroom Patch. Give Alice a hug for me as she eats the magic mushroom.

Rolling on the floor laughing! As a mostly vegan, I do eat lots of mushrooms. But they're the nourishing kind, not the mind-altering ones. I never tried those.

Well, MAYBE my subconscious inspiration for this was a documentary I watched last week about the band Jefferson Airplane... It included a clip of Grace Slick singing White Rabbit. Bands in the '60s projected lots of weird images behind them as they played.

This effect seems more painterly.

From my wife: "Why are you taking a picture of..." [raises iPhone to snap a similar scene]

Pompeii was full of surprises.

The Psychedelic era was great... imagine the youth of today not knowing who Peter Max was.

My kids grew up without knowing. I, however, had his pop-art posters on my walls, along with Pete Turner’s photography posters. That should explain SOME of my interest in special effects.

Thanks! The results of the "Style Transfer β€” Image styles" filter depend on your image and the image you merge, whether using an Adobe preset or your own file, and the intensity settings used. The stock effect is way too intense. I had to tone it back by half or two thirds to get this. Then I bumped saturation, sharpened, and added minor vignette.

After several hours of playing, you get a knack for what works and what won't, based on your subject. I knew when I saw that barrel what I wanted to do with it. It came out much nicer than I expected.

The color scheme that this scene took on was in the Preset I chose. I also did it with a photo of a friend doing a silly skit at our class reunion. See below. It's a very different effect.
