Good question. I think I would look at the world a bit differently. The original shot along with many others I Pre-visualize making a composite. Without software like PS I don’t think I would’ve taken the original shot.

You’ve been thinking outside the box again Frank, with an interesting result! I like it.
If you make the added image a Smart Object You could play with a Liquify filter and tuck the left hand side into the shadow form a little closer - even bend the top edge to conform with the rim shadow. And if you need to adjust it afterwards you would be able to as it’s a Smart Object.
I am always surprised by your ability to come up with a different idea!

Thanks Dave for the suggestions. I will gave that a try. I used the warp tool and it didn’t occur to me to use the liquify filter.
