Cold water, that once you enter it, makes "things" shrink.
The water was very cold indeed, as it came flowing up from very far underground at a rate of around 500 gallons per minute. Trout lived in this water and it was easy to see them even in the spring house. It was also however, illegal to enter the water. There were park rangers in the area most of the time to make sure no one took any fish. You could fish but had to release immediately. I’m sure they wouldn’t have been so tolerant of the nudity if we were splashing around with their precious fish. I can’t even really imagine anyone willingly getting into that water. It was probably around 45 degrees, something like that.
