Westbound on the UPRR Salina Subdivison 04 Nov 2022
On a chilly, damp, grey day the CP 7014 Heritage unit leads a westbound empty 111 car 3-bay covered hopper enroute to Salina, KS via the UPRR Salina Subdivision and ultimately Wakeeney, KS on the UPRR Sharon Springs Subdivision
Very nice. I am not at all versed in “real life” train operations to know the significance of your description, but I do see a well-composed image of a handsome locomotive. “Heritage” means old? Being retired? Thanks for sharing.
Normally, I would be surprised to see a CPR engine as far south as Kansas. Not so now as I've read of their expansion moves into the U.S. market.
Nice shot.
Nice catch! I have yet to catch a CP Heritage unit....
Heritage in railroad "speak" means to pay honor to prior railroads that are associated with today's railroad as a general rule. UP & NS have multiple units honoring the railroads that each has taken over in one form or fashion. BNSF did 3-bay covered hoppers for the railroads that it has taken over to form today's BNSF.
