Pick any day and review the discussion in the Main Section, both the questions and the replies. My point is proven true day after day after day.

[edit] I took a moment to review your topics created. The truth of my words are there on display in that list too. So, I 'know' you better than seemingly you know yourself.

First, people will always tell you that what they bought is the best…justifies their purchase. As you say, your mileage may vary.

I make it a point to read 1 star reviews…what are the negative experiences? Are they relevant?

Left a funny taste, broke in a week…useful. Rarely do I see a review that says ‘changed my life’, but they’re there.

Nothing to do with meteorology.

Luck is the by-product having the best equipment.

It helps to have a good eye and a willingness to look at different angles to see things differently. THEN having the best equipment brings it to a better level.

I absolutely think the opinion of someone who has used a product is very helpful. Example: If someone asked me how I liked the R5 and was a beginner, I would tell them that it is the best camera I have ever owned, however for a beginner it would not be my choice. That could help them with not spending too much and giving up photography all together because of the learning curve.

………You need the best equipment to create the best images.

Imagine your photography as if you approached every image with only the best equipment.
