Not sure what these plants are ...

These are some of the photos I took several years ago at the Sand Hills State Park in Hutchinson, Kansas, not far from the Prairie Dunes Golf Course. I have no idea what they are but suspect the first one may be a pod that eventually turns into what is called a Devil's Claw in that part of the country.

I have no idea either, but they are great photos.

Don, the 2nd son Loc: Crowded Florida
 
#2 is a "Button bush" we have em here in Florida, a fav of butterflies, bees & caterpillars and more likely.

Thanks for that info Don. I grew up around where the pics were taken but now live in Omaha, just 200 miles north, and have never seen any of these plants around here.

#3 looks like rose hips-what's left after the rose petals fall off in the fall.
