I participated in the Durango & Silverton's "Fall Photography Special" on Saturday, October 22, 2022.
Locomotive No. 476 led the way through the San Juan mountains and the Animas Canyon. The loco was repainted in Rio Grande livery and equipped with a diamond stack for the occasion. The consist was a 1970's style featuring "Denver & Rio Grande" lettering on the coaches.
The weather and lighting were great. The event was well organized and the photographers were all collegial.
