People liked the shot of the lounge section and on other photo sites I had questions about the rest of the car, so here are a bunch of images of the interior and exterior.
I am going from exterior to interior shots (the original is included) working from the rear of the car to the front. But then a shot of Santa on the Observation Platform and two of the types of trucks that would have delivered things to the train back in the early days of its service as a lounge/buffet and then business car.
Because of the hassle I had with the restoration crew, I didn't get everything and many shots were hurried and not as good as I would like. Maybe at one of the events this Holiday Season, the car will be out, and the crew will let me take my time and redo this series the right way.
I will label the pictures individually.
Most were with a Canon 6D and either my 14mm Manual Ultrawide or Canon 24-105L, but the one of Santa on the platform was an Olympus super zoom:
C-3020 (only 3 MP), @ 19mm, 1/640 @ f/4.5, ISO-100
This will be two threads because of the number of shots.

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Those RR VIPs did travel a bit better than the rest of us.

They traveled well - but was this back in "the good old days" when the restroom had a sign that said "Do not use toilet when car is stopped at the station"? That, of course, was because the toilet seat merely sat over a hole in the floor!

It was a business car for the VIPs from after it was rebuilt in 1927. This was about the time they started putting in chemical toilets with tanks, so it could have been either. But it wasn't just a hole, the toilets flush, so if it didn't have a retaining tank then the little sign to not flush while in the station would be up. I would have to check but since it was a top of the line car for Railway Executives it probably has retaining tanks so they could use them at any time.
These are some excellent and very interesting images. I live in St Joseph, Missouri which was founded by the fur trader, Joseph Robidoux. His sons were all over the American West as fur traders. One of them, Louis Robidoux was the founder of Riverside, Calif. There are many variations on the spelling of the name. I have books from the Rubidoux Press out of Riverside. I believe Ishi is one of these. I am friends with a Mr. Tapia from out there whose mother was a Robidoux and he descends from Tiburcio Tapia, the founder of Rancho Cucumonga. I mention this only to illustrate that when an image is posted, there is no way of knowing how it might connect with someone. Thanks for sharing these images.

The car was repainted to blue and silver and named after the (small) mountain by a Rail Fan group in Riverside. Our museum where it is now is in Perris just a bit south of Riverside and March Air Reserve Base along I-215.
