Three IC's and a Bug

My 1st session of the night was IC1318; quite a nice group of emission nebulas. Lots of meteors in this image.

2nd on the list was the Elephant Truck Nebula, IC1396, and yes, there is what looks vaguely like an Elephant Trunk in this image.

3rd was supposedly a Diffuse Nebula in IC1310; however, I would simply rate this image as yet another Gazillion Stars region of the Milky Way.

The 4th image shows what happens when a bug, probably a sand fly, gets into the equipment configuration. At the time I was playing with a 1.5x Barlow and incorporated a bug.

Shot with a Sony A7R III and Astro-Tech 65EDQ on an iOptron CEM26 mount, no filters, no guiding.

The images display far better when downloaded.

Enjoy!

LR_PI_ABE_MStretch_PS(A-P)_LR

These are great photos. But can you please explain what these terms/abbreviations mean ? Maybe I can use them for my own astro attempts. Thanks- Mike

LR: Adobe Lightroom
PI: PixInsight
ABE: PI's Automatic Background Extraction
MStretch: PI's Masked Stretch
PS(A-P): Adobe Photoshop with Astro-Panel extension

The attached processing process 'sheet' how these abbreviations fit.

Thanks for the explanation! Now it makes more sense. Would the "astro panel" extension work with PS Elements also or only with PS? Thanks again- Mike

Hi bwa
Nice shots. The magenta seemed a bit high in the second shot so I tried to remove it a bit. Of course it is just a matter of personal preference. See what you think.
