I decided to try something new…..using the in camera effects setting for “Photo Illustration”.

This is pretty much how the photos looked SOOC with minor tweaks that really didn’t change much in how the photos looked.

Nikon D5500 with Sigma 100-400.

Interesting processing. I like numbers one, three, and four. The others, not so much.

It looks like simple posterization with a color and contrast boost. Two minutes to do the same thing in Photoshop.

Yes, two minutes for you. Not everyone has the software or knowledge to do this in post processing.

My exact thoughts! Good to experiment though, we have such wonderful tools at hand and it is good to experiment with them. I've done that a little -- maybe after seeing these fine examples I'll do more!

I do realize some things, like you have to have the program.

How to posterize your images in Photoshop.

Upload the file. Select the image you want to posterize in Photoshop.
In the top menu, select Image › Adjustments › Posterize.
Select the level of posterization.
Done.

Thank you for this information. I use Photoshop Elements and believe I can do something similar in it though I haven’t tried.
