A couple of shots of the mining equipment at Claypool, AZ.
Copper was mined in this area from open pit mines.
I observed a small town devoured by one of the mines over a period of years.
My father would ride his horse down the streets of it roping the senoritas and ask them for a date. He was living with an Aunt for a while in this area.

Must have been a wide open town. Is there anything left except for the mine?

Absolutely nothing but hundreds of feet of air.

Love the second shot. How long ago did your father travel the town by horseback?

There's not much around there I'd normally call photogenic, but you did a good job.

If you explore the area there are some amazing things to photograph.

The most amazing thing is that along the highway were huge mountains of tailings.
Recently as technology has improved since the beginning of the last century the companies are mining the tailings.
Also I remember the water pipes were made of wood staves bound with iron and later replaced with iron pipes.
