This is the hotel that was on the corner of about 84th and Peoria, downtown Peoria, AZ.
At the time of the photo it was a senior center and subsequently torn down.
For those unfamiliar with the Southwest the balcony all around served a purpose.
When I was young and lived nearby you would see sheets hanging from the roof. I asked why and it was because there was no A/C then and the sheets were wetted down and the patrons would sleep on the balcony and the breeze would cool the sheets creating a cool environment on the balcony.
This is from a scanned slide that had developed mold and holes in the emulsion from traveling around the world.
Being green dates back decades before anyone knew what it was.
