The Sphinx of Giza is really not that much more giant than the horse and rider. The horse and rider are about 200 yards across a road beyond the Sphinx.

I honestly can't decide whether the horse and rider are a plus, a minus, or no impact one way or the other. They certainly do provide your optical illusion and that is what you were going for, so that is a plus. But without them it would absolutely be "photo as art" which I am especially fond of.
It's a toss-up. But great work either way.
