Hi all, I'll be in Boston tomorrow afternoon, and would love to shoot a sunset somewhere near the water with a long exposure. If anyone has any location suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Given that the ocean is east of Boston, unless you want to get offshore, your best bet would be looking west over the Charles River from the area around the Science Museum or the Longfellow Bridge. There are some places up on the North Shore that look back towards Boston over the water. I think there is an App called something like "Photographer's Ephemeris" that lets you map out places to be to see the sunset in what direction, etc. Looks like it would probably take a but to learn to use it.

Jeffreys Point, East Boston is the eastern shore of Boston Harbor, with a view of the downtown skyline.

From downtown bear left out of the Tunnel or you could take a subway to Maverick station.

I'll second the suggestion for the Longfellow Bridge, though there may be some vibration from traffic on the bridge.

Theres a pedestrian overpass nearby, to walk from Charles St and Cambridge St crossing over Storrow Drive to the Hatch Shell and the Esplanade.

Havent been back for many years, but the overpass was NOT glassed in when last I was there. Glass would acoarst be problematic if theyve added that :-(

Thanks, this is helpful. I actually use an app called Sun Surveyor which is very easy to use and extremely accurate.

When you get finished taking pictures head to Abe & Louie's on Boyleston St. for dinner.

You could take a water taxi across the Harbour and photograph the sunset and city skyline across the water.

This might work for you. See link below. I took the daytime cruise just last week and enjoyed it. You pick up the cruise on Longwhard Pier near the Long Wharf Marriott hotel.
