I do like the background vs green and the transillumination showing leaf structure.
What story is this photo telling beyond ... "leaves are green and light will go thru them." What is the viewer, supposed to look at in this hodgepodge** of leaves... What story is the viewer to be seeing?
Here is where snipping one sprig and showing the structure of one leaf would tell us more. Yes,"Less is More."

**hodgepodge is a word I have used many times but for a critique, I should use the word correctly. I was incorrect. "a heterogeneous mixture: jumble" The photo is jumbled, but not heterogeneous... the photo is all leaves, homogeneous.
The better would have been "a whole bunch of" leaves" or "a jumble of leaves." I believe the word jumble is the best choice. Jumble means an untidy collection or pile of things. Indeed the photo is a "pile of leaves,"

Ok, joking aside. IMO, the shot needs a focus on one leaf rather than the bunch. I basically see a bunch of leaves without any subject to capture my attention. dpullum and I are in agreement.
Congrats on shooting what is nearby...a very difficult assignment.
