At least someone's happy about possibly getting 20 inches of rain! The rest of us are battening down the hatches for a hurricane the likes of which Tampa hasn't seen in over 100 years!

Thanks, I'm as prepared as I can be. It is because of these storms that I chose not to live near the water when I moved to FL fom NY 20 years ago. It gets expensive to keep evacuating, especially if one has to stay in hotels. Most of those who evacuated yesterday headed to Orlando(many hotels ) but now the latest is the storm is headed there!
The same thing happened with hurricane Charlie about 10 years ago.

Nice photos Cloudhopper. We are in Eustis, about 30 miles north of Orlando. I think we will be Ok, I hope you will be as well!

You should be fine, it's going to go pretty far south of Orlando so only heavy rain will be a problem.

Thanks Merry, It hit the Ft Meyers area and spared the Tampa Bay area. The damage is catastrophic.
