Rongn...., this panoramic photo is comprised of 78 individual RAW photos. Adjustments made in ACR on one and applied to all. That, in itself, can be a bit of a trick, as the scene ranges from dark shadow to bright sunlit walls. Once the suitable adjustment was determined and applied the RAW files needed to be converted to .tif format for stitching. After stitching, which took a considerable length of time, making minor adjustments in Ps was a hit-and-miss situation. Some of the tools I use in Ps apparently don't work on files of that size. So, other methods had to be tried. All-in-all it was a lot of hours to produce this result.

Why so many subs? You didn't have a wide-angle lens with you?

A good question. The reason was using a moderate telephoto lens would allow for more details in the distant portions of the scene. The automated panorama head is weight limited. If it weren't, I'd have used a lot longer focal length lens and taken an appropriate larger number of individual photographs. Additionally, the longer lens would have a narrower depth of field. Thus, 105mm, or thereabouts, seems suitable for the results I wanted.

To use a wide-angle lens would have required one with about 120+ degrees angle of view. This could lead to unwanted distortion.

The only issue I have with PS CC is that some tools/filters do not work when the image is higher than 8 bit. Which ones did not work in this scenario?

Thank you, Loren.

Perhaps if one drinks the water there they can find out.

You're correct about the greater than 8bit issue. I'm ok with that as most of the photos I process are 16bit. However, it's the size that can trip up Ps. I have to explore a bit more. This is the largest pano that I've ever tried to create to date.

There are several others that I use, external apps to Ps that don't seem to work with files that exceed 2GB.

Did you use the D850?

If so, I am not surprised. Many software titles are unable to deal with the massive raw files. For panoramas, I revert to the D500.

No. I use a D800 for these. I purchased a used one specifically to attach to the pano device and initial exposure settings. That's all it's used for.

Your mention of the massive RAW files is one of the reasons I don't use the D850 for these. I would consider attaching the D850 to the back of my view camera for Pano work using the shift stitch back I have for that.
