I have no idea what this will grow up to be but it sure looked nice when I saw it.

Looks like a banded woolly bear. The bristles aren't poisonous but can penetrate the skin and cause a skin irritation.

Frank you are absolutely correct. Actually it was me who dirtied the little fuzzy wuzzy to begin with. He was below me on a steep bank. There were twigs covering him and blocking a clear photo shot. I had to lay down to reach him to remove some of the twigs and leaves and that is what makes him look dirty, the residue falling on him. He is still intact though and crawling around somewhere. Thanks for taking a look and for the always valued thumbs up.
